All the things you can do in Malaysia

WITH THE WHOLE FAMILY!

Enjoy everything together~

So we’ve talked about activities you can do alone, experiences you can try out with your partner, now let’s go on to see what Malaysia has in store for the families out there looking for some fun! There’s a whole world of variety that’s waiting to be explored right here, and to be honest some of them are stuff I just found out about fairly recently! Let’s see what you and your family can do to make some good memories!

Do your kids like to fly?

We’ve got a flying treat for them!

Flyboard MY is no stranger to being featured in our magazine, but did you know they also have packages for kids? Their tandem paragliding package lets your kids be accompanied by their trained staff to fly together, hovering just over the water while enjoying the sensation of being off the ground!

If you feel like a kid yourself, then of course there’s still the normal flyboard packages that let you fly on your own, so honestly they can cater to anyone and everyone! Clear out your schedule, your family’s gonna love this if they enjoy adrenaline and flying!

You’ve played football, but what about playing football while

Becoming a ball?

You’ve probably seen this on your Youtube recommendations thinking that it looks like a lot of fun, but don’t be fooled: It’s even MORE fun than it looks! Playing bubble sports is one of those things that you have to experience for yourself to truly understand just how much joy there is to have with knocking people over and seeing them try to stand back up like the roundest turtle in the world.

You get to play a variety of sports, but we recommend giving football a try! Tackling is gonna be quite the challenge with a whole bubble suit around you so good luck!

A tour for eight to

Cruise through Langkawi’s UNESCO Geopark

To have a place recognized by UNESCO is no small feat, but it’s also unsurprising coming from the beautiful island of Langkawi! Jungle Walla does group packages where 8 people can go on a cruise together to have a look at the mangroves and observe the natural wildlife. The whole cruise takes about two and a half hours to complete, during which you’ll be able to see amazing limestone rock formations, carved by the elements to form incredible shapes that not only act as decor for the landscape, but also house a variety of fauna that is unique to Langkawi!

And the best part? It’s only RM600 for the 8-person package, which is RM75 per person! Absolutely insane deal if you ask me, definitely give it a look!

Your family is into arts & crafts?

Maybe some tufting will suit your fancy!

Okay I’m gonna be level with you, I had never heard of tufting before I started doing these sorts of articles. Turns out though that it’s actually really chill and enjoyable! You’ll basically be making a rug in your design with these big tufting guns that help put the fabric in place.

And the folks at Happy Hour Club & Cafe provide the tools and guidance necessary for Tufting 2.0, which should result in a better product overall that’s also easier to make. I think it’d be a good time for families to make things together and learn a new skill, especially now that it’s more accessible to the general public than it ever has been before!

Try out Maze Escape Room’s

Spooky Hospital

Imagine you’re me, your friend dragged you to join an escape room, something you’ve never done before, so you don’t know what to expect. You’re with your friends at the receptionist’s counter of what seems to be a clinic or hospital. Some of your friends go meet the doctor while you and others stay. Suddenly, the lights go out, and the doors are all locked.

I won’t say more because that’s spoiler territory, and I really think it’s best to go into this experience blind. Their Scalpel escape room was the first escape room I ever tried, and it’s honestly stuck with me. The performances done by the staff in-character were great, and so much effort was done to make the place feel as close to an actual hospital as possible. Genuinely memorable, would be great fun to go with family! Just be warned, it can get pretty scary!

Your family headed to Perak?

Stop by for some chill water tubing!

Kuala Kubu Bharu, Ulu Slim, and the Perak river are the Malaysian trifecta of white water rafting. But maybe you want something a bit more chill, a bit more relaxed. You’ve already got a lot on your plate and so does your family, so instead of a challenge you just want to have a peaceful time.

Enter water tubing: You get to float over the river with donut-shaped floaties and just enjoy your time over the currents. It’s much less demanding than rafting, so your family can just take in the moment, enjoy the surroundings, and not have a care in the world. Give it a try!

Tours are a family staple for traveling

But what about tours on jet skis?

We started this article with Langkawi, so let’s end it with Langkawi too! (It’s a pretty place okay, don’t blame me for loving it lol)

Sann Watersports offers you a tour of the isles of Langkawi not by cruise, but with jet skis! You and your family will be able to ride over the water and enjoy the sights directly in the moment. They’ll have a guide to bring you along of course, but you’ll all be in control of your own jet skis (if someone doesn’t want that, they can tag along as a passenger too!).

It’s not just riding around and seeing stuff either, you’ll also get to feed eagles, as well as take a dip and go snorkeling! There’s so much to do while you’re out there in Langkawi’s waters, so we highly recommend giving this one a shot!
