Yes you read that title correctly!
So I had a look at all the experiences I got on Yolo.my and was curious, how many can I reasonably put into a 3-day trip, travel time included? I had to scratch that itch to find out, so let me show you the plan!
Starting off strong with one of Malaysia’s rafting hotspots, the folks at Chili Rafters will help get your early morning adrenaline rush going! The meeting point’s at the Kuala Kubu Bharu The whole thing starts at 9:00am and finishes at 12:30pm, so make sure to get up early and don’t forget to bring some dry clothes with you!
Location: Pejabat Pos Kuala Kubu Bharu, JKR 165, Jalan Hamid, Pekan Kuala Kubu Bharu, 44000 Kuala Kubu Baru, Selangor.
Just 8 minutes away from the post office earlier is KKB Paragliding Park, where you can go on an exciting flight over the local scenery, with the mountains on one side and Lake Huffaz on the other! You’ll have a birds eye view of the whole place with nothing obstructing you for about 10-15 minutes, so it’s definitely worth a visit! Just call ahead of time since they might have to check the weather first.
Location: KKB Paragliding Park, Taman Millenium Sports Complex, Jalan Ampang Pechah, 44000 Kuala Kubu Bharu, Selangor.
Moving down south for an hour to Gombak, you’ll get the chance to visit the Gombak Horse Riding Club (GHRC)! It’s a little hidden gem that some might not know about, but they offer horse rides for genuinely affordable prices. They’ve got memberships and everything, but if you want to test the waters first then they’ll let you do that too so you can get a feel for it for 15 minutes. The evening sessions are between 3:00pm to 6:00pm, so we recommend aiming for 3:00pm!
Location: Gombak Horse Riding, Lot 5639, Jln Sungai Pusu, Kampong Sg Pusu, 53100 Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur.
By now you’ve rafted, flown, and rode a horse, so you’re probably starving by now. Well lucky for you, Pavilion KL is only 22 minutes away from GHRC, and they have a whole slew of restaurants to choose from! Even the food court there serves some stellar dishes (I recommend the Japanese stall, they make an amazingly creamy omurice). Maybe go for some light shopping too if you’ve got the time, but keep in mind that I’ve got one last activity for the day!
Location: Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, 168, Jln Bukit Bintang, Bukit Bintang, 55100 Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur
Location: Gombak Horse Riding, Lot 5639, Jln Sungai Pusu, Kampong Sg Pusu, 53100 Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur.
If you walk for 10 minutes from Pavilion KL to the bus stop at the Sg Wang Plaza entrance, you’ll be at one of the stops for KL Hop-on Hop-off, where they have a fleet of double-decker, open-top tour buses periodically stopping by several must-see sights around Kuala Lumpur. I saved this one for last because at 8:00pm, they start their KL City of Lights tour which gives you a glimpse of the city’s nightlife in all its wonder and majesty! I highly recommend this trip, it really is a sight to behold!
Location: Sungei Wang Plaza, Jln Sultan Ismail, Bukit Bintang, 55100 Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur.
Bukit Bintang has a whole suite of choices when it comes to hotels at every price point! If you’d prefer something budget friendly but still really good, we recommend this Airbnb at Ceylonz Suites with a going rate of RM180 per night. You get stunning views of KL Tower just outside your window, and the Twin Towers not too far behind. A queen bed, a smart TV, and the view of KL out your window to wake up to, what’s not to love?
If you want to go more upmarket with your stay you’ve also got WOLO Hotel, located incredibly close to Pavilion Mall! Their rooms offer a great sense of modern luxury, and that’s on top of the fact that you get a whole set of perks when you stay there like discounts at Starbucks Reserve, Yakiniku Great, and many other partnered establishments. Also if you want to bring someone special along, you’ve got the option to personalize your room deco for a nice little surprise. All this for a starting price around RM400 per night.
If you really want to splurge, the JW Marriott just across the street from Pavilion Mall is a great hotel to stay at. With unbelievably relaxing living spaces, a bathtub, a public pool, and all your shopping needs just an elevator ride away,, it creates a memorable experience that just exudes luxury. Relax, have a drink, then take the elevator down to eye out your next LV bag or a Patek Philippe. Live the way you want to. The going rates are around the RM600 mark for a night’s stay.
Traveling 25 minutes out of Bukit Bintang, you’ll be able to reach the 1 Utama shopping centre. Being the 13th largest mall in the whole world, it features a ludicrously gigantic variety of shops, restaurants, and facilities that’ll leave you spoiled for choice! And if you want to experience something fun, we’ve actually got two recommendations this time!
If you don’t mind getting a little wet, you can try surfing! That’s right, surf at a shopping mall! Flow Rider’s got a whole facility where they simulate waves that you can ride on, and it’s suitable for all ages!
Or if you prefer to float in mid-air, WindLab’s got an indoor skydiving facility that lets you experience the freeing weightlessness of skydiving in a uniquely exciting environment that’s gotta be experienced first hand!
A session at Flow Rider takes about 1 hour, while WindLab is a little longer at 1 hour 45 minutes. Either way you’ll have a fun time!
Location: 1 Utama Shopping Centre, 1, Lebuh Bandar Utama, Bandar Utama, 47800 Petaling Jaya, Selangor.
Alright, you’ve got your fair share of high adrenaline activities, why not take it slow and relax a little with making your own perfume! About 20 minutes away from 1 Utama is Parfumeur.co, where they know the ins and outs of perfume making and will be more than happy to guide you every step of the way! You can stop by for the 3:00pm session and just craft a scent that’s uniquely yours within 3 hours, so get creative and make a perfume specialized for you or a loved one!
Location: Parfumeur.co, A-SG-10, Flexi Suite, Sunway Geo, Jalan Lagoon Selatan, Bandar Sunway, 47500 Petaling Jaya, Selangor
Just 8 minutes away from Parfumeur.co is an iconic shopping mall amongst Malaysians, Sunway Pyramid. With a Sphinx out front and a mall inside of a pyramid (as the name suggests), it’s a shopping centre with character. Also helps that if you’re bored, they have a variety of activities available!
If you’re looking for some quick easy fun, you can visit Future Land Fun Zone! It’s futuristicly-themed indoor theme park with a variety of games and VR activities that’s great for getting your dose of fun before calling it a night!
Location: Parfumeur.co, A-SG-10, Flexi Suite, Sunway Geo, Jalan Lagoon Selatan, Bandar Sunway, 47500 Petaling Jaya, Selangor
Just like the Bukit Bintang hotels, we’ve compiled a list of three hotels and different price points that might suit your fancy!
First up is another Airbnb, a minimalist comfort loft at Aera Residence PJ for RM169 a night. With 100mbps wifi, enough beds for 5 people, and an unobstructed view of Bandar Sunway City from 38 floors high, that’s pretty much a bargain.
If you’d like to stay at a hotel instead, a Superior Twin Room with 2 single beds at Summit Hotel Subang USJ will cost you as low as RM170, just one single ringgit more than the Airbnb! Features-wise it’s pretty similar to Airbnb, so if you’re adamant on staying in a hotel then this might be for you!
If you want to go higher end, then the Sunway Pyramid Hotel could be the fit for you at just RM389 per night! Connected pretty much directly to the mall of the same name, it gives you incredible convenience if you want to go eat or go shopping. You get luxurious rooms to boot, so you’ll be cocooned in comfort! Plus if you so wish, you can also just go to the Sunway Lagoon waterpark for all the fun you need for Day 3 of your trip! If you don’t want to do that though, we’ve got a different itinerary planned for you…
We made sure to save the big event for the last day. Get yourself a ride to the Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport where you’ll be greeted by the folks at One Day Pilot. They’ll get you briefed in on everything before they get you in their plane to fly. Once airborne at the right altitude, the pilot will teach you on the ins-and-outs of flight control, letting you take the helm and pilot the plane yourself! It’s an incredibly unique experience that everyone should take part in at least once in their lives.
We’re not done with the flying stuff yet! Over in Putrajaya, you’ll get to join in with the guys at Flyboard MY who’ll strap on what are basically water cannons onto your feet. You’ll get to fly in mid-air as the streams of water propel you upwards! If you’ve done this before and you want to try something different, they’ve also got a water jetpack waiting for you! It’s a lot of fun and a great way to cap off your adrenaline-filled vacation!
Just 16 minutes away from Flyboard MY, is Bell Suites by Salaam Suites. Nothing crazy, nothing out of the ordinary, just a nice relaxing place to hunker down and chill for a bit before you end your vacation. KLIA is 20 minutes away, so if you’re heading out of Malaysia afterwards it’s an easy trip. It’ll be a good place to settle down and just take things easy after 3 days of adventuring. If you really followed this guide every step of the way and it worked out, we’re glad to hear that! We hope you’ll get more opportunities to see what this wonderful country has to offer. Till then, this is your author signing off!
